Commercial Flake Floor Coating in Columbus, NC
Blastek Concrete Designs recently completed a full flake floor installation for the Columbus Fire Department in Columbus, NC. The existing rubber floor tiles had to be demolished and removed, revealing a concrete floor that was lumpy, uneven, and dealing with moisture issues underneath.
Our team started with heavy diamond grinding to flatten the concrete as much as possible, then installed a Moisture Vapor Barrier (MVB) primer to address the moisture problems before any coatings went down. From there, we applied a Grayhawk body coat, executed a full broadcast of Slate Hybrid flake, and sealed everything with a polyaspartic topcoat. All products used on this project were from Smith Paints.
The result is a flat, seamless flake floor system with a high-performance topcoat designed to hold up in a high-traffic environment like a fire station. The uneven surface and moisture issues are gone, and the Columbus Fire Department now has a professionally finished space that performs as well as it looks. Contact us to learn more!
